- Pook Siprin Bellini

12/26/10
Like everyone, I am shocked and saddened by the very sudden loss of our classmate and friend Tom Cass.
I first met Tom in 3rd grade @ Brookside Elementary School and we remained good friends on up through Jr./Sr. High at OHS until he left us in Junior year to join the Navy.  Since he did leave school before our Senior year, there is no picture of him with us in our Sr. Class Yearbook.  I would like to rectify that at this point in time by posting one of the photo's I took of him during our Sophomore year.
I would also like to say, for those who may not be aware, he proudly served our Country in the Military for over 23 years.  He made the Navy his career.  He was married to his wife Mary for 44 years and they have three sons.  Tom Jr., Christopher, and Jeffrey.  He also has 4 grandchildren.  Brandon, Amanda, Josh, and Isabella.  He loved his family dearly, as well as his friends and his country.
Tom and I were fortunate enough to bring our friendship full circle by reconnecting through Classmates.com a few years back and we continued to enjoy sharing stories, memories, opinions, outlooks, views and family photo's back and forth as email buddies ever since.
He will be very sorely missed, but will remain FOREVER in our memories and in our hearts.
- Linda Scott Salemi

BILL COLEMAN
9/20/14
With great sadness we learned that Bill passed away this morning.  Bill served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam where he was wounded in 1968.  He later became a career firefighter and N.Y.S. Arson Investigator, after graduating from the N.Y.S. Academy of Fire Science.  Bill served as Fire Chief in Ossining and retired due to a disability in 1988.  I had the pleasure of corresponding with Bill periodically since 2009 when he first contacted me regarding the website and the upcoming 2009 reunion.  He shared news about his moves to Florida, SC, and back to Florida, as well as updates on his health.  I hadn't heard from him in quite a while and, ironically, I thought about him today when I was going through our Class Directory… just prior to receiving news of his passing.  Bill's service and dedication to his country and his hometown will be forever remembered and appreciated by all those who knew him.
- Pook Siprin Bellini

10/10/14

My cousin Diane Guiseppe Carter died in 1998 of liver cancer.  I am STILL in disbelief over it. And since we moved to Florida and live close to my aunt (her Mom) and her sister the loss is even more apparent.

The news of Bobby's passing leaves me so deeply saddened.  Gone way too soon.   He was a very special person and we shared many happy times together throughout our High School years and beyond.  He will always have a place in my heart and I feel Blessed to have had him in my life.

For any of you who didn't have the opportunity to know him well, let me say that he was really a good person.  He had integrity of the highest caliber and possessed a strong moral fiber.  He served our Country proudly in the U.S. Air Force and later served the Community of Croton-On-Hudson as a Police Officer.  He and his wife had a daughter who passed away,  which was a blow he never seemed able to recover from.  I am sure they are reunited now.  You will be missed Bobby, but some of us were lucky enough to make memories with you that we'll carry with us throughout our lifetime.

ELAINE MAGUIRE MYERS
7/3/15
I am so sad to let everyone know my very dearest friend Elaine Myers went to heaven today and is finally at peace with God. Her family were all with her today.  She is now relieved of all pain and suffering.
- Janet Lips Bricken

I (and I am sure I speak for all of our classmates) was just so impressed with the strength and spirit with which Elaine battled her illness. As poorly as she may have felt so many times, she never let it show. She is an inspiration for all who face adversity - do it in style. We will remember always both her beaming smile in High School and the joy she emanated at our Reunions.
-David Perugini

Though this news in not unexpected, it still feels so devastating. Every time I spoke with her she was so positive and the last thing she ever did was complain. She was always just happy to hear from me, even when she was in a hospital bed in Florida more than once recuperating from surgeries. I know we will all remember her sweet nature and her amazing courage. Always in our hearts Elaine.

MIKE SELLAZZO
9/5/15
Though we went our separate ways after high school, we reunited as a class for our 10th, 25th, 35th, and 45th (held a year early) reunions, and we enjoyed our 65@65 Birthday Bash just a couple of years ago.  As hard as it is to believe, we are now just a few weeks away from our 50th.  Those special gatherings gave us the opportunity to renew old friendships and begin some very special new ones.  The one common denominator in all of those events was Mike Sellazzo.  While the committees for all of our reunions varied over the years, Mike was always there to lead the way.  He was truly the glue that held our class together.  He loved the Class of '65 and he was loved and respected by all of us.  We will miss his big heart, his wonderful smile, and his never-ending dedication to our class.

On a personal note, words cannot express how saddened I am by the news of Mike's death. I last spoke to him when he first got to the hospital in Pittsburgh and I was so pleased to learn that he was going to get a long-awaited lung transplant.  Sadly, he passed away before he received it.  Rest in peace, Mike.  I will miss you, old friend.
- Pook

Mike, it was just on Aug. 15th that you messaged me and assured me from the hospital that you would see me in a month. I know you tried. I know you fought. You leave so many broken hearts behind, but you also leave us with wonderful memories. Thank you for being such a special gift to all of us. You will always be with us and always be a part of us.
- Linda Scott Salemi

With great sadness we have learned of the passing of Sue Swanson, following a long and valiant fight with a variety of health issues.  Sue was very dedicated to the Class of '65 and spent many hours working on reunion committees and tirelessly tracking down "missing" classmates.  She was a wonderful, caring classmate and a true treasure for the Class of '65.  Rest in peace, Suzie Sunshine.

12/6/21
Susan was an active Reunion Committee chairperson 2009 through 2015 and worked diligently to help locate all our classmates. Susan's most recent act on behalf of our class was to plan a 2021 Reunion, which unfortunately had to be postponed due to the persistence of the COVID epidemic. Undeterred, as recently as last month, Susan's attentions were focused on a welcomed 2022 Reunion. Susan loved our class and our classmates.
